Vitra, Charles and Ray Eames Roadshow – Greece

Vitra, Charles and Ray Eames Roadshow
A comprehensive spatial communication and visual identity system engineered in close collaboration with the team at Vitra for the Charles and Ray Eames Roadshow at El Greco Gallery in Athens, Greece. Designed to celebrate the enduring legacy of mid-century design pioneers Charles and Ray Eames, this traveling exhibition required a graphic framework spanning environmental exhibition signage, digital communication posts, a commemorative poster and a highly conceptual physical invitation.
The primary challenge lay in creating a launch strategy that bypassed standard disposable print marketing, demanding instead a tactile artifact that could capture the spirit of functional utility. The brief required the communication to feel like an extension of the exhibition itself, an object of permanent value that the design and architecture community would instinctively retain.
Our studio responded by subverting the traditional medium of a gallery invitation, transforming a signature piece of Vitra’s product portfolio into the communication medium itself.
We utilized the iconic Vitra Toolbox as the physical invitation, applying the opening date directly onto its structural surface to deliver a collectible, functional object. This industrial logic carried over into the commemorative poster, which marks the arrival of the traveling roadshow at El Greco Gallery, balancing a disciplined typographic layout within a grid system. From the spatial choreography of the environmental exhibition to the structural clarity of the digital media, the entire project stands as a cohesive ecosystem that honors timeless design through absolute production discipline.
