Perrakis Papers at Benaki Museum
09.2017 Identity developmentMission
We were commissioned to create the visual identity of the Toulouse-Lautrec Tribute Exhibition sponsored by Perrakis Papers, using the company’s products and referencing the artist’s work.
Approach
We researched the life and work of Toulouse-Lautrec and studied the main themes that informed his work. The Moulin Rouge became our primary point of reference, leading us into a journey from the shadows of the Parisian cabaret to the light of a contemporary art exhibition. We decoded and reinterpreted the artist’s color palette and renegotiated the symbols that represent the Moulin Rouge. We also employed photography to enhance the overall mood of the design. Outcome
Our design offered a contemporary take on the themes that had occupied Toulouse-Lautrec in his lifetime, with references that paid tribute to the artist while at the same time providing a unique design perspective and creative use of the material.
